Description

Here at quailmadness we have our very own quails.

We hatch out chicks from the eggs that our females lay & the eggs are fertilised by our males, our females lay eggs everyday from March/April till September/October so we genuinely hatch chicks every 4-6weeks from April till September.

The breeds of quails we have are:

Japanese also known as the Cortunix,They also have some other names depending on their colour so these are English white/Italian/tuxedo, Their eggs are abit bigger than an olive but some can be the same size as an olive…

Jumbo these are the same colours as the Japanese breed but the difference is the birds are fatter/heavier/taller & their eggs are bigger this can be longer and fatter/just longer/or just fatter…

Sorry we don’t breed Button/Chinese painted quail.

Jumbo & Japanese chicks hatched 28th June,Taking orders now for:

unsexed chicks available from Wednesday 6th July when 1week old.

1-2wks old £3each unsexed.

2-3wks old £6each unsexed.

Feather sexed females 3-6wks old £10 each or 6wks & older £15 each.

Thats if we have any feather sexable females hatch.

Feather sexed males from 3wks old depending if we have any feather sexable males hatch,£5each.

Pictures of the bigger older quails are most of our breeding flocks/the parents.

All chicks from newly hatched-3weeks old will need a heat lamp or heat plate then from 3-5weeks they will need to live at room temperature then can move outside if the weather is warm.

They eat chick starter crumb from newly hatched till 4weeks old when they have mixed corn & layers pellets added into their crumb then at 6weeks old they will no longer need the chick crumb but it won’t hurt them to have it longer if you still have some to use up.

We sell these foods to help you get started,We also sell oystershell grit which they will need at 6weeks old & playsand which they love to bathe in,Also woodshavings & hay,Please see picture for prices on all this.
