How to set a spring squirrel trap

"The trap in my hand is a spring trap, and it’s a mark 6, we use these for squirrels. At the moment its in a safe position, and to set it i’ll tip it upside down, ensuring the trigger and the safety catch are in the open position. Using my right thumb and left hand I’ll pull and push it apart, tip it up so that the catch is in place. I will set this on a run. In this case there is a slight run behind my feeder where the squirrels are going in. Before I set it I will peg it down, and to set it I will push the trigger down, finger under the footplate. It’s still on safe mode so remove the safety catch. Place the tunnel over the top, thus like. Then we also then put two sticks in front of it. Just to ensure the only thing we get in here are the intended species. On the legal side of it, all traps need to be checked every 24 hours. We recommend twice a day rather than once a day."
