NFU donates £150,000 to farming charities
NewsMonday 07 January 2013
The National Farmers Union has made a donation of £150,000 to The Prince’s Countryside Fund in order to help farmers that are struggling after one of the worst years in memory.
The donation has been made by the NFU Mutual’s Charitable Trust and they have offered the money in order to aid farmers who struggled in 2013 due to the adverse weather we have had.
The money will then be distributed between a number of farming related charities that will include the Addington Fund, RABI, RSABI and the Farm Crisis Network.
These farming charities will be pleased with the recent donation which matches other donations that have already been made by The Duke of Westminster and The Prince’s Countryside Fund itself. The three donations have taken the total up to £450,000, which is a much needed boost to British farmers.
This will come as good news to British farmers who lost a total of £1.3bn last year due to the heavy rainfall.
