The latest pet trend to hit the UK are mini pigs. Forget a new puppy or kitten for Christmas and pop down to your local swine farm and purchase yourself your very own miniature pig! TV celebrity Jonathan Ross has got two, as does Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, so it looks like the ultimate accessory for this season it your very own pint sized porker! As young pigs, they can squeeze into a teacup but, their miniature size does not come with a miniature price tag! These mini pigs can set you back £700 each! Some farms even have a 1 year plus waiting list to get your hands on one of these creatures! They are difficult to find now in Britain! Reaching just 14 inches tool (human knee height) and around 50lb when fully grown, these pigs are a lot smaller than your average swine. They are very clean animals, easy to keep and can live up until around 18 years of age! The worlds smallest pig is thought to be the 28inch long wild pygmy hog, an endangered species which lives in wildlife sanctuaries in Assam, India
