The nationwide search for Britain's sexiest farmers has concluded with a 31-year-old pig farmer and an 18-year-old agricultural student being crowned the champions.
Graeme Moon, a father of two, and Rachel Churches, a Hartpury College student won their titles after fighting off competition from over 300 entries in a public vote.
The competition was run by Farmers Weekly and it aimed to discover Britain’s sexiest male and female farmers. It was launched at the end of last year in association with The Original Muck Boot Company.
Gok Wan, the star of ‘How to Look Good Naked’ helped whittle down the entries to a shortlist of 10 potential winners, which were then voted on by members of the public.
Graeme was nominated by his wife Samantha and spoke to the North Devon Journal saying: “I didn’t think at any point I was going to win. I have become quite the local celeb!”
He has a family pig unit which has 380 sows and 4000 fatteners and he plans to use his newfound fame to ‘bang the drum’ for British farming.
Rachel, who is from a 120 cow dairy farm near Glastonbury has said that she feels strongly that farming should be promoted to younger people, especially women. She also spoke to the North Devon Journal saying: “There are just as many opportunities for girls as boys. They do just as good a job as the guys. I drive a tractor as well any any boy.”
